Giannis Giannoutsos was distinguished among the 40 best European architects below the age of 40. He received his award from the European Centre for Architecture, Art Design and Urban Studies,Chicago Athenaeum for his works: “Asproklissia”, “Archaeological Thematic Museum of Piraeus” and “Conversion of a former Dance School to an Architectural Office - Design Studio”.

The most promising European Architectural Offices were announced in 2016. Forty architects and industrial designers were nominated from an international committee composed of European and American architectural offices. The nominees for the “Europe 40 under 40” 2016 award came from Austria, France, the U.K., Greece, Italy, Kossovo, Portugal, the Slovac Republic, Spain, and Turkey.
